ประชาอุทิศ คำนี้แปลความหมายดีๆให้เข้าใจง่ายอย่างประทับใจ คือ ประชาชน + อุทิศให้ ครั้งหนึ่งของวิทยาลัยเทคนิค ธนบุรี เมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2503 นายอำเภอได้เชิญคณะอาจารย์และนักศึกษาไปทำถนนร่วมกับประชาชน จึงสมกับคำว่าที่มาของถนนประชาอุทิศ ในเส้นทางสายหนึ่งระยะทาง 2.5 กิโลเมตร 5 สะพานลอย ที่ไม่กว้างเท่าไหร่นัก ผ่านความเป็นมาอย่างไรเราจะมาเล่าให้ฟังผ่าน Timeline และหลักฐานจากเอกสารจดหมายเหตุทั้งรวบรวมได้จากหอบรรณสารสนเทศ ดังนี้

  หลังจากนั้นมีถนนที่ต้องซ่อมแซมอีก โดยปรากฏหลักฐานในปี 2507 ถนนประชาอุทิศชำรุด วันที่ 10 สิงหาคม 2507 ถนนประชาอุทิศชำรุด วันที่ 1 ธันวาคม 2507 หากหอบรรณสารสารสนเทศพบหลักฐานใดจะมาอัปเดตให้ทราบ

เส้นทางที่ยาวนานมาคู่กับเรื่องราวของวิทยาลัยเทคนิค ธนบุรี เป็นความทรงจำที่สะท้อนให้เห็นถึงความร่วมมือของนักศึกษา ประชาชน และภาครัฐ จากถนนลูกรังที่เต็มไปด้วยหยาดเหงื่อ สู่เส้นทางลาดยางที่ทอดยาวเป็นสายใยแห่งความเจริญในวันนี้เรื่องราวเหล่านี้ไม่เพียงเป็นประวัติศาสตร์ แต่ยังเป็นเครื่องยืนยันถึงบทบาทสำคัญของภาคการศึกษาและชุมชน ที่ร่วมกันสร้างสรรค์สิ่งที่ดีกว่าให้แก่สังคม ความสำเร็จที่เกิดขึ้นจึงเป็นผลลัพธ์ของความสามัคคีและความเสียสละ

Pracha Uthit. This term, when simply and impressively interpreted, means "people + dedicating." Once, in 1960, the District Chief invited faculty and students from Thonburi Technical College to build a road with the local people. This truly fits the origin of the name Pracha Uthit Road. Along one stretch, 2.5 kilometers with 5 overpasses, which is not very wide, we will tell you how it came to be through a timeline and evidence gathered from archival documents at the Information Library, as follows:
